Shoreline Park

Last spring Kwan Jang Nim Hwang, the Grand Master of our Art, initiated a vision for expanding Soo Bahk Do ™ Moo Duk Kwan’s ™ visibility. The objective was to deepen the value of our training and to share our experience with the community.

While Soo Bahk Do ™ and Kwan Jang Nim Hwang are know within Martial Arts circles, they are not as well known in the general community. Kwan Jang Nim’s vision is to have each studio take up the challenge to grow the Art in both status and membership by involving students and instructors in events and projects that would show people our Moo Do philosophical foundation.

The leadership of our school recently got together and formed a project that would help people fulfill Kwan Jang Nim’s challenge with the adoption of Shoreline Park.

The project had it’s inaugural event Sunday, February 20th, 2005 with a very successful weed pulling undertaking. We have made a commitment to the Santa Barbara Parks and Recreation Department to do 30 person/hours a month for the next two years.

Shoreline Drive and la Marina

This long, narrow ocean-side park offers fabulous views of the harbor, the Islands and the mountains.

Picnic facilities, as well as a small playground, make this a popular spot for family gatherings. This is a great park for walking, skating and playing Frisbee. You will often see three dolphins skimming the surface off this park. Facilities include barbeque and picnic facilities, playground, beach access, free parking
